Mr. Widroe is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Technology Group. He is based in the firm’s London office. Previously, Mr. Widroe was the CEO of MVP Capital, an independent advisory firm that provides a range of advisory services to clients in the technology, media, and telecommunications sector, prior to its acquisition by Houlihan Lokey in 2020. While there, he co-founded the firm’s Telecom Group and advised on more than $3 billion of transactions in the communications space. Mr. Widroe also started the Renewable Energy Group at MVP Capital in 2012. Mr. Widroe’s industry experience is extensive. He has been involved in telecommunications since he founded Apollo Communications, a cable television company, in 1988. Mr. Widroe has also been involved in wireless communications since the first PCS auctions in 1995. In addition, Mr. Widroe brings years of experience in M&A, management buyouts, cross-border transactions, and business reorganisations for wireless, cable, telephone, and broadcasting companies throughout North America that he accumulated while serving as an Investment Banker at Amsterdam Pacific Securities LLC, a boutique investment bank. Mr. Widroe holds a BSc in Agricultural and Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis, and an MBA from Cornell University. He sits on the board of directors for SunState Tower II and is a donor to environmental, health, and educational causes. Mr. Widroe is a current board member of the American River Conservancy and a past board member of the Cancer Support Community.
