Conal Henry

Founder & Chair | Fibrus |

Conal Henry is Founder and Chair of Fibrus. Conal founded Fibrus with Dominic Kearns in 2018 with the goal of providing hyperfast broadband to rural and regional customers that had been long ignored by incumbent telephone companies. Fibrus addresses these customers through a mix of subsidised and commercial build programmes. Conal has secured some £700m in equity, debt and public funding to finance the build programmes in NI and GB which target over 500,000 homes. In 2020 Fibrus was successful in being awarded the £200m Project Stratum to deliver fibre broadband to some 80,000 homes in Northern Ireland. Subsequently in 2022 Fibrus was again successful in being awarded BDUK’s largest contract to date when it signed a £100m Project Gigabit contract to deliver fibre to up to 60,000 homes in rural Cumbria. Alongside the subsidised programmes, Fibrus is also building separate commercial programmes in both Northern Ireland and Cumbria. Before co-founding Fibrus Conal was CEO of enet taking it from start up to its £200m acquisition by the Irish Infrastructure Fund in 2017, as CEO of Enet, Conal also led what is now known as NBI to become the winning bidder for the €2bn Irish National Broadband Plan. Prior to enet Conal was Commercial Director at Ryanair having been Head of Finance for Non-Food and George Clothing at Asda in the UK. Conal graduated in Law from QUB in 1991 and is a Chartered Management Accountant.
