Chara Drakou is our Communications Assistant and the youngest member of our team! She started her journey at the FTTH Council Europe on September 2023, just one month after finishing her bachelor studies. Chara holds a degree in Political Sciences, which provides her with a strong foundation in understanding the intricate dynamics of policy and governance.

During her academic journey, Chara gained invaluable experience as an intern at the Permanent Representation of Greece in the European Council, serving as a Greek delegate. This role allowed her to develop a nuanced perspective on European politics and sharpen her skills in diplomacy and international relations. In parallel with her studies, Chara has attended Social media management seminars and has worked as a Social Media Manager, where she honed her abilities in content creation and audience engagement. 

Chara's passion for global issues is evident in her volunteering experience, participating in various Model United Nations conferences across Europe. Additionally, Chara has took part of a two-month research project in Egypt, examining economic disparities and their impacts on local communities. 

Chara is always eager to expand her horizons and take on new challenges. Currently, she is exploring the fiber industry and learning about market dynamics to inform her next career move and potential pursuit of a master’s degree.
